This year, we made waves in the web dev world with game-changing workshops, top-tier talks, and community vibes. From performance optimization to next-level Angular practices, we’ve been all about helping devs build scalable, modern web apps. 💡✨

🔥 Nx Workshop Masters

We became the lead maintainer of the official Nx workshop 💪 By providing developers with high-quality training materials and insights, we supported organizations in transitioning to scalable monorepo architectures. Oh, and did we mention our stars Julian Jandl and Edouard Maleix earned Nx Expert badges? Legends. 🏆

RxAngular’s Big Year

We dropped epic updates for RxAngular:

  • Native Signal Support: Core directives like rxIf, rxLet, rxFor, and rxVirtualFor now seamlessly integrate with Angular's signal system, enabling fine-grained reactivity and improved performance.

  • Functional API for RxState: A new functional creation method for RxState was introduced, simplifying state management and promoting a more declarative approach.

  • Signal APIs in RxState: RxState now offers native signal support, allowing developers to utilize Angular's reactive primitives directly within state management workflows.

  • Improved State Configuration: Enhancements in state configuration provide more intuitive APIs, simplifying state management and enhancing flexibility.

And last but not least, RxAngular has secured funding from netidee, Austria's largest internet funding initiative, to enhance its performance-focused Angular tools. This investment will drive the development of new features and improvements, further advancing the capabilities of RxAngular 😎.

🎉 NgGlühwein 2024: A Community Milestone! 🎉

This year, we elevated our community engagement by hosting NgGlühwein 2024, a free conference that brought together Angular enthusiasts from near and far. The event featured 9 star speakers, including Angular core team member Alex Rickabaugh, delivering insightful talks on the latest in Angular development. The lineup also included industry experts like Matthieu Riegler and Tomas Trajan, among others. It was an incredible day of learning, collaboration, and community spirit!

The full event was livestreamed to our Youtube Channel! Give us a follow and never miss another talk from our events 😉.

NgGlühwein 2024

As it was kinda a special year for me personally too, I want to share some of my highlights.

I celebrated a couple of anniversaries:

  • 5 years marriage (13 together) with my best friend and wife Johanna ❤️

  • 10 years of AngularVienna 💪

  • 15 years self employed in IT 😎

  • 20 years coding in the web 🤓

Wow! 🤩

I had more time in between traveling and often we added some days after an event. This vitalised my creative potential, the main source for any big Visio I feel.

I started drawing, reading and experimenting again, and spent a little more time on my hobbies. Essential for me, so worth mentioning!

Michael 2024 recap

Most importantly, our team ❤️! We added team members and worked on our overall expertise and internal structures. I was blasted away by our progress, and it seemingly materialised in a stronger, tighter connected team. Worth mentioning by name is Julia Rapczynska, who nailed her first talk on a meetup, and straight away added 2 conferences and a public workshop on top, rad!

Publishing Code PushUp, our latest tool and newest sibling company was also a joy to see happening. It brought fresh ideas, drive and true value for the community. I will even ship a new year present in the form of a new plugin. Stay tuned!

And not to forget the Nx partnership. Not only is it a major milestone for the company, but also for me personally. As a true lover of the tool and fanboy of Viktor Savkin and Jeff Cross, I’m personally pretty hyped about our partnership. Even nicer for me is to see that some of my oldest friends in the company, Miroslav Jonas, Mike Hartington, and Katarina Skrupellos (in order of time known) found their way into nrwl and work on NxDevTools now.

Here’s to more innovation, more talks, and more community love in 2025 🥂 Let’s build! 🛠️
