Description

Adrian Romański took the stage at meet.js Poznań #61 on October 14, 2025, delivering his talk “Accessibility Driven Development.” The event, hosted at VML (Nowy Rynek E, Poznań), gathered over 60 participants for an evening of knowledge sharing, networking, and practical JavaScript insights.

Adrian’s session highlighted why building accessible applications from the very beginning is not just good practice — it is essential to avoiding technical debt and maintaining long-term code quality. Through a real-world story of a developer and a menu component, attendees saw how overlooking accessibility early on leads to rework, reversed decisions, and increasing maintenance overhead.

The talk combined storytelling (30%) with live coding (70%), where Adrian refactored real application code to demonstrate how accessibility-first thinking simplifies implementation and improves UX. Participants were able to clearly see how adopting A11y principles early prevents complexity and creates more resilient software systems.
